AWRC will be running a variety of workshops for women to provide opportunities to upskill, network and engage in creative activities. Scroll to view upcoming events in the month of May.

HerSpace

AWRC will be starting weekly women's groups in our newly renovated centre starting Friday 10th April.

HerSpace is designed to empower, educate and provide a safe place for women to socialise. These sessions will be a combination of staff-led workshops and external guests or local organisations introducing their services/presenting on their areas of expertise to our service users. We have previously held Bollywood dance classes, the London Black Women's Project, and a Shaw Trust employment workshop.

Date: Every Friday, 12pm-1pm
Location: AWRC

Upcoming Events

1. FLOWERS/MINDFULNESS WORKSHOP
Date: 5th July

Flower Friends is set to host a flower arrangement workshop for our service users at our center. During the session, participants will create petite posy bouquets and acquire the skills of arranging flowers based on color, size, and type. This initiative aims to empower women by fostering the development of new skills, encouraging social interaction during the arrangement process, and promoting mindfulness and relaxation practices.

2. HEALTH WORKSHOP
Date: 19th July

Brent Health Watch will be visiting AWRC to enlighten women on vital topics including:

  • NHS complaints
  • Advocacy
  • Patient rights and entitlements as per the NHS constitution

This event is essential for women as it offers valuable insights into booking customized GP appointments, understanding complaint procedures, and addressing any NHS-related concerns.
