DHR Learnings
Research indicates that Black and minoritized victims are disproportionately represented in domestic homicides, yet there is often a lack of professional understanding regarding the barriers that prevent these victims from seeking help. This project aims to address this gap by involving by and for led agencies in Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs) as chairs and expert panel members through mentoring and targeted workshops.
As part of a pilot initiative, two women from such agencies have been recruited to serve as DHR chairs. Mentees receive comprehensive training and support to enhance their skills while contributing their valuable knowledge and expertise to the DHR sector. Additionally, the Coaction Hub has conducted workshops specifically designed for these agencies to clarify DHR processes, examine barriers to engagement, and support their roles as expert panel members.
